About VoyageSifter

1. What VoyageSifter is

VoyageSifter is a travel metasearch site that compares fares across more than 500 airlines and rates across more than two million hotels, and then hands you off to the airline, hotel or booking site to complete the purchase.

We built it for independent travellers and holiday planners — people who need the job done now, without installing software, signing up for a trial, or working out which of a dozen plans they need.

2. How it works

The short version:

1. Search once

You enter a route or a destination and dates. We query our airline, hotel and aggregator partners rather than holding our own inventory.

2. Compare honestly

Results are shown with the components that actually determine what you pay — fare, cabin, baggage allowance and stop count for flights; board basis, cancellation terms and taxes for hotels — because a headline price that hides a bag fee is not a cheaper price.

3. Hand off to the supplier

When you choose a result you leave VoyageSifter for the airline, hotel or booking site that actually sells it. Your booking contract, your payment and your ticket are with them.

4. How we are paid

If you book after clicking through, the partner may pay us a referral commission. That commission does not change your price, and it does not buy a higher position in our results.

3. Who we build for

Independent travellers and holiday planners — and specifically the ones who arrive with a task, not a project. Most people who land here have one file and one problem. The measure of whether we did our job is whether they leave with it solved in under a minute.

That principle decides most of our design arguments. No account wall in front of the core tools. No watermark on your output. No queue you can pay to skip. No dark pattern that turns a free download into a subscription.

4. Our editorial standards

Alongside the product we publish a blog covering travel metasearch and the work our users actually do. Because that content sits next to advertising, it is worth being explicit about how it is made.

• Editorial independence. Advertisers and advertising networks have no input into what we publish, how we rank anything, or what we recommend. No advertiser has ever been given sight of an article before publication.
• Separation of advertising and editorial. Sponsored placements and recommendation units are supplied by third-party networks and are visually distinct from our own writing. We do not publish paid articles disguised as editorial.
• Corrections. If we get something wrong, we correct the article and say what changed rather than quietly editing it. Tell us at support@voyagesifter.com.

5. How we pay for this

Being straightforward about this matters more than it used to, so:

Referral commission

When you click through to an airline, hotel or booking site and complete a booking, that partner may pay us a commission. It comes out of their margin, not out of your pocket — you pay the same price you would have paid going direct.

Advertising

We also carry advertising and content recommendations from third-party networks, including Taboola, on our editorial pages. What data those networks collect, and how to opt out of personalised advertising, is set out in our Privacy Policy.

6. Where we stand on privacy

We collect what the Service needs to work and little else. We do not ask for government identifiers, we do not handle card numbers ourselves, and we do not sell personal information for money.
